I made the news again! This time, helping you get the most bang for your buck while taking advantage of Tax Free shopping week! Here is the article and if you want to also see the video, you can click HERE to watch it!
NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) Tax free week kicks off this Sunday and it’s a chance to save money on back to school clothes and shoes for your kids.
If you shop right you can save even more money. From stacking up promo codes to getting free money, the Crazy Coupon Chick has retail shopping figured out. I snagged a few shopping secrets from her to save you even more next week.
If any of your kids need clothing or footwear, tax-free week is the time to do it. All items under $100 will not be subject to the state’s sales tax and there are ways to save even more money.
We talked to Missie Morris, better known as the Crazy Coupon Chick, who works hard clipping coupons so you don’t have to! She says in addition to the sales tax savings said a lot of stores, like Target, Walmart and Kohl’s will also price match.
“So, you can use an app like Shop Savvy and you can scan the barcode of an item you’re looking for, say a pair of Nike sneakers, and it’ll tell you what other stores sell it for cheaper,” Morris said.
When she knows where she’s planning to shop in advance, she’ll go on raise.com and buy a gift card for less than it’s worth. Then you’re saving money before you even get to the sales tax at the register.
“Also, make sure to use apps like Retail Me Not or Shopular, both of them have all the promo codes, in-store discounts or coupons. Your phone then becomes a walking coupon for you inside of the store,” Morris added.
She says stores like Kohl’s will allow you to stack up to four promo codes in one order
If you’re not usually a coupon clipper there’s incentive next week to start. If a qualifying item is over $100 and you have a coupon to bring it under $100, it will be tax-free.
