I tell you ALL the time whether it is in my coupon classes or any questions that come my way during a Facebook message asking where or how to buy coupons. What do I always tell you folks? YOU DO NOT BUY COUPONS ONLINE. It is illegal, there is a print limit on your device for a reason. There is a reason you cannot buy coupons from the newspaper. And, now coupons dot com is finally suing! It is a violation to their terms of service.
I also tell you to not use Instagram as a way to learn how to coupon as many fraudulent activities, deal ideas etc are posted making others think it is right but it is WRONG. People who sell coupons are known as “coupon fairies” because they find a way around the system that many of us cannot in order to get thousands of the same prints. They are all over instagram selling their coupons. It has finally come back to bite one of the most popular “coupon fairies” in the butt. She is being sued! Coupons dot com will expect her to pay back all the money she has made on selling coupons (a coupon is technically null and void it if is sold- it states that right on the front of the coupon) as well as all damages. This is one of the reasons we miss out on some awesome coupons. Many manufacturers put print limits on their coupons expecting that the general; public will be able to get them but “coupon fairies” get thousands of copies meaning less and less of us are able to actually get to print them too. Hence the reason the high value Tide coupons are always gone in hours as well as the high value $2 off Charmin coupon we had a few weeks ago.
Coupon fraud is real. And, so are the consequences. We have seen arrests for consumers using “fake” coupons, photocopied coupons etc but this is going to be the first time a large coupon corporation has gone after a “coupon fairy” and in my book, it is about time! I am sick of stricter policies at the stores, coupons being no longer available (NLA) people getting 400 of the same coupon and wiping shelves. Coupons in the News was the first to report and speak with both parties. To read the entire article click HERE.
