So, as most of you know, we have had a series of changes that are happening at Stop & Shop including not being able to stack e-coupons with manufacturer coupons AND the huge blow we are going to take to their gas points program. That sent me on the hunt for another grocery and I even got my FREE Big Y card to try out a different store.
But, the tried and true grocery store for couponers has always been ShopRite. It seemed like they were going to come out on top BUT it looks like that is all going to change. Check out what is being spotted on the front of sales flyers all over:
Maybe you don’t know what that means or never paid any attention to it. ShopRite has always doubled coupons up to .99 cents. That means that if you handed over a .75 cent coupon, it would double to $1.50. a .99 cent coupon would double to $1.98 etc. Now, that will no longer be the case. Any coupon with the face value over .50 cents, will be taken at face value only. They will only double a coupon up to .50 cents. A .50 cent coupon would still be worth $1, but anything over that will no longer double.
That is a HUGE blow. This is already in effect in select stores throughout New Jersey and CT. Keep your eyes peeled on the front of your ShopRite sales flyer to see if these changes have already hit your store.
