So, the blog will be quiet this weekend since it is my daughter’s birthday. Well, her official birthday is on Monday the 25th but we are having her birthday party today and another one tomorrow (friends one day family the other day)
Since she thinks she is a grown up now, she wanted her room to not be so kid-ish. We got her a new desk, painted her walls, new curtains, new sheets and a new comforter set. Everything was couponed! The paint was bought at the Sherwin Williams 40% off sale plus I had a $10 off $50 coupon. She painted her walls gray and has an accent wall of teal blue. Apparently pink just isn’t cool anymore when you are going to be 11.
Her comforter, sheets and shoe rack were bought at Bed Bath & Beyond. Our vacuum had broke and talk about super awesome customer service! hey took it back and gave us store credit. We got a new vacuum but still had $80 bucks left over in store credit. So, I grabbed everything and used their 20% off coupons (you do not that Bed Bath & Beyond coupons never expire right?!) I ended up paying $4.85 for all of that! Ummmm, super cool 🙂
My mom bought her curtains on clearance at Lowes and we made a trip to IKEA for the desk. Only thing that was bought full price but that’s what Gramma’s are for 🙂 See the basket on the floor? That is for one of our cats. He sleeps in it every single night. So, my daughter picked her wall color based on the color of the basket. Our cats aren’t spoiled or anything.
And, for her party, I got a ton of outdoor toys, chalk, badminton, ring toss, horseshoes and a bunch of other things at Target 90% off clearance sale! 🙂 All in all, she LOVES her room (she is in there now hanging up “cool” posters) and has no idea that we literally spent pennies putting it together!
Just don’t mind the kitty in every single picture. He is an attention hog and thinks it is all about him.
