You. Do. Not. Even. Want. To. Know. I cannot even believe I am sharing this but then I guess you all know I am human too. I went to Target today with NO coupons. Nothing. Yup. $140 dollars later. I totally just did that.
To be fair (and make me feel better on the inside) it was on Easter stuff. I have been meaning to go get all of my daughters “stuff” for her Easter basket this week but she has been home sick and then no school today because of Good Friday. My mom ended up coming over and picking me up and we were able to get out of the house without my daughter. I had no list. No coupons. Nothing! And, you have to know my mom. If she wants something, she will buy it. No matter what. She kills me. Sometimes I think she should be ashamed. I am her daughter and The Crazy Coupon Chick after all.
So, I at least had my phone on me. I scrolled through all of Target Cartwheel (have you even done that?! There are thousands of offers and it literally takes 20 minutes) trying to make my Easter list off of that so I had some sort of savings but my Mom kept throwing things in the cart. Every aisle we went in to, I heard her call my name followed by “Isn’t this cute? Do you want it? Do you think Skyla (my daughter) will like it?” And it doesn’t matter if I say no or not. It goes in the cart.
I did get her back. She needed hair color and I made her buy 3 Garnier so that we could at least get back a gift card. And, go figure. The woman complained about having to buy 3 of them because they were too expensive! LOL 🙂
I felt like a nut case without a list running all over the store searching for the items that I had a Cartwheel for but I was seriously only buying something if it had some sort of savings. Then we get to the kitty litter and I tell my mom there is a Cartwheel for this kind and she goes to a complete other kind and puts that in the cart instead. Did she even hear me?! I was dreading heading up to the checkout counter. As I should have been. A tiny little cart. Totally not even full, once all bagged, it was only 4 bags which means there was no need for a cart in the first place and the bill was $140. All I can say is that I did save $8 by using Cartwheel. Does that count for something?!
Well, at least my daughter will love her Easter basket, we already made some crafts with the Peeps and Jellybeans and dyed eggs and decorated them today in preparation for the holiday! So, to see a smile on her face was worth it but you best bet I threw that receipt in the trash. I do not want it to remind me of what I did! 🙂 Hope you all have a Happy Easter ♥
