Welp, there goes by budget. Sometimes, having coupons is a curse! Stop & Shop mailed me all these super awesome coupons and I just had to use them all. I got a $5 off $20+ coupon, $5 off $40, $5 off $50 Stop & Shop app coupon and 500 bonus gas points when you spend $140+. So, what is a girl to do?! Obviously spend $140+ on her groceries so that she could use ALL of those coupons. We can’t waste coupons now can we?. Ugh. It hurt so bad! I did the best I could to get as much stuff as possible. I probably won’t have to grocery shop for at least another 3 weeks but still! I spent $160! We must have looked like quite the silly family. We had 2 carts and were throwing stuff in to both of them. Poor people who got stuck behind me in line LOL! Actually, the lady was pretty cool. She was super impressed with the amount of money I saved (at least someone was!)
I had the cashier ring me up WITHOUT my card so that I could see what my bill really would have been. $398 dollars later! My husband was super pissed. Like I had failed him or something. I tried to explain that I had not given over my card yet. My card ended up taking off about $100 bucks which definitely isn’t bad at all! After coupons, my total was $162. That is a savings of $236 which isn’t bad but I seriously just spent $162 on my groceries! Ugh! Oh well! We have food. And, I did it really just for the gas points. I ended up with 3,016 gas points which is $3 off per gallon of gas. I guess in the long run, If I had paid for my gas, it probably would have cost me close to $100 to fill up both of my cars AND then I would have still needed to buy food. At least this way, I bought food and will get free gas. I would rather have food and pay for food instead of gas any day!
I am sorry that I have no picture or breakdown. For my husband and daughter, one of the carts was their “Free for All” carts meaning that they were able to get things that they wanted without me having a coupon for it. The deal is that it at least had to be on sale! So, I would be super embarrassed of that picture hahaha! It was so much stuff. We filled the trunk with grocery bags. We had to put the rest of the groceries in the back seat. That is just way too much to take a picture of and breakdown. Beside, half of the items aren’t even on sale anymore because they were part of Stop & Shops 3 day sale. I can’t believe that I was so excited to spend $140+ at the grocery store. Sometimes we get super excited over the silliest deals! It sounded like a great idea when I was getting my list together but once I had to open my wallet, it didn’t seem like the smartest idea I have ever made 🙂
Have you ever thought you were getting a great deal and once you complete the deal, you think about it and think that maybe you shouldn’t have done it? Or, have you ended up spending way too much on grabbing deals?! That happens to me all the time too! 🙂
