I am always talking about how I don’t pay for my gas and I am always posting awesome money making gas deals for Stop & Shop. I love the feeling of getting gas for free so yesterday I decided it was time for others to feel that same feeling. We have 2 vehicles so usually both need to be filled weekly. But, my husband has been laid off and we just haven’t gone anywhere. We have 2 cars almost on full sitting in the driveway and a ton of gas points just chilling on my Stop & Shop card. Since I didn’t need them, I decided to share them.
I went to my local Shell station and prepaid on the pump. It cost me just .67¢ for 35 gallons of gas. Now to find people who want free gas! I offered for the cashier at the gas station to pull her car as she always has to deal with me and my gas points but she had just filled her car up the day before and couldn’t squeeze anything in to her gas tank. My husband and I were standing at the gas pump thinking it was way harder to give away free gas than we thought!
A husband and wife pull up and the wife goes inside. I follow her inside and I go up to her and ask her if she wants some free gas. She looked at me like I was crazy and didn’t quite understand. I tried to explain it to her a bit more and she was reluctant to take the free gas. The cashier tried to ease her mind letting her know I was a regular customer. All the lady could keep saying was “I don’t know” I’m not sure”. She then told me to talk to her husband. I think she was afraid. It was pretty upsetting that someone was so reluctant to take free gas 🙁
I walked outside and thank goodness that her husbands window was down! I walked up to the window and I said Hi Husband! Your wife told me to come talk to you. I told him I had free gas and I wanted to give it to them. He immediately said yes and pulled his car up to the pump that we had prepaid. I went back inside and let “wife” know that “husband” said yes! She then knew it wasn’t a scam and almost fell on the floor with happiness. My husband and I walked away with a smile on our faces and went to get back in to our car to leave. Wife came running out of the store and handed me a lottery ticket. She then said that “Those who give shall receive” I didn’t even want to take the ticket! She had paid more for the ticket than I had paid for all of that gas but she was insistent.
We didn’t win the lotto but “wife” won my heart! It is true, those who give do receive. We receive joy and happiness by giving to others. So, next time you have some extra gas points, make someone’s day and enjoy the priceless reactions on their faces when you offer it to them! ♥
