As most of you know, I do not pay full price for anything. And, that also includes stuff for my daughter. She always wants Build-A-Bear and at first, I would give in (sometimes) and if I didn’t, you know my mom totally did! She fell for those puppy dog eyes each and every time! But, once I figured out about all their sales and rewards programs, we score Build-A-Bear for practically free! As of now, we are up to 63 and counting. The average price of a Build-A-Bear is about $20 bucks. That means those bears would have cost me over $1260!! That is a ton of money that I don’t have. Don’t believe me? Take a look at my daughters bed:
And, that’s not even all of them! Can you even believe that?! Ok, ok, I know. My daughter is spoiled. But, when I can get them for so cheap, how can I say no?! First thing is first, you have got to sign up for a Stuff for Stuff Club card. With this card, you earn points! For every dollar spent, you earn 1 point. 50 points will earn you a coupon for a free accessory. The best part is that you earn points on gift cards, regular priced stuff AND clearance and sale items too! 100 points gets you a $10 gift certificate!!
Now, on to the fun stuff. For your birthday (yours AND your child!) you get a $5 gift card (birthday money!). These will be emailed to you so you simply just print them out or present them on your mobile device at the store. (Or enter the code online) Also, Build-A-Bear offers tons of coupons. Sometimes in our Sunday coupon inserts, you will find coupons for $10 off $30 purchase. Simply for signing up for the Stuff for Stuff Club card, you will be mailed special coupons too! At certain points throughout the year, Build-A-Bear will also offer special gift card deals such as Buy a $20 gift card and get a free $5 gift card for yourself. Or, spend a certain amount in the store, and qualify for a $10 gift for only $5. Black Friday is one of those times you can find gift card specials. And lastly, every few months, Stuff for Stuff Card members get exclusive deals! Last month, it was 40% off ANY Build-A-Bear!
Best part is always last! You can combine ALL of their deals (as long as each one is a different form). You can use a Build-A-Bear coupon, store sale, birthday money (aka rewards certificate) AND a gift certificate on one animal!!! My daughter got to go to Build-A-Bear twice for her birthday. I bought her one bear and her Gramma bought her the other bear because of course when she goes with Gramma, she gets to buy a ton of accessories so a free bear turns into not being free with all the add ons (LOL- kids & their Grammas)
For my daughter’s birthday, I took her to take advantage of the 40% off sale and using her $5 birthday money coupon that she had got. Notice how I just said “Bear”? Because that is all she got! Then my mom aka “Gramma” took her and she got accesories and a smell but they still saved a TON of money by combining a bunch of deals. She bought a bear, a smell and a birthday cupcake for her birthday bear. We had a $5 off $25 purchase coupon (mailed to us for being a Stuff for Stuff Club card member), $5 birthday money (my birthday is less than a month apart from my daughters so I gave her my birthday money to use) and lastly she used the $10 gift certificate for earning 100 points on the Stuff for Stuff Club card! That does not show up in the savings though because they consider that a gift card (which is a form of payment) So, 2 shopping trips for 2 bears and accessories should have cost $44.50 only ended up costing $14.56 including tax which is less than the price of a single Build-A-Bear! A savings of almost $30 bucks! Now, if my mom didn’t buy those accessories, that Build-A-Bear would have been totally FREE! I Hope that this helps you save a ton of money spoiling your kids too ♥ ♥ Happy Shopping ♥ ♥
