Insert Guide
Many companies have coupon inserts that are available some weeks in the Sunday papers. Here is a list of the most common inserts:)
SmartSource
- This is one of the most common inserts you can get almost every week in your local Sunday paper. You can also print coupons from their website here (please be advised that these are NOT the same coupons you receive in your Sunday papers)
RedPlum
- Red Plum is another very common insert that is available almost every weekend and also have a website for printable coupons here (Again, these are NOT the same as those available in the Sunday papers)
Proctor & Gamble
- Proctor & Gamble is a monthly insert and happens to be my all time favorite inserts. Generally, these coupons are only good for one month (for example- P&G received 10/30- all coupons expire 11/30) Brands include Bounty, Tide, Charmin, Gillette, Crest, Swiffer, Febreze and many more. You can sign up to receive free samples of P&G brands as well as coupon books here
General Mills
- General Mills is usually a quarterly insert that is relatively smaller in size than the other inserts. Coupons include brands such as Cheerios, Pillsbury, and Betty Crocker. You can also print coupons from their website here
Playsaver
- Playsaver is usually released 2 times a year and is put out by the makers of Hasbro toys. These include Strawberry Shortcake, Littlest Pet Shop, Nerf, Monopoly, Transformers and more! They also offer savings and coupons through their website here
Pepsi
- PepsiCo. is one of the newest inserts and has shown much success through advertising with coupon inserts. Brands include Pepsi, Tropicana, Quaker, and Frito Lay. They do not have a website for printable coupons.
Target
- Target also offers coupons in the Sunday paper. Some of these coupons simply come inside of a SmartSource or RedPlum insert but every once in awhile we get an insert FULL of Target coupons that can then be “stacked” with manufacturer coupons! They also offer coupons to print on their website here
Walmart
- Walmart has jumped on the bandwagon and is also offering coupons! So far as of this writing (2011) there was only 1 Walmart insert but it is better than nothing! Most of the coupons were manufacturer coupons and could be used at many other stores as well. Walmart is now also offering printable coupons from their website here
- Most inserts are not available every week of the month
- Inserts may not be available on holidays
- Not every newspaper has the same coupons or the same inserts
